How thick is the skin of the earth? Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ researchers discover a simple empirical model to predict soil thickness

POCATELLO –A team of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ researchers working at the Reynolds Creek Critical Zone Observatory in partnership with the USDA Agricultural Research Service has discovered a simple method for predicting the spatial distribution of soil thickness across a landscape.

Public can view live exploration of underwater volcanoes from study that involves Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ researchers looking at possibility of life on Saturn moon 

POCATELLO – The public and educators can join Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ geosciences Associate Professor Shannon Kobs Nawotniak as researchers from NASA, NOAA and other partners explore the possibility of life on one of Saturn’s moons by sending unmanned submersibles down to study volcanoes on the Pacific Ocean’s sea floor.

Idaho Entrepreneurship Challenge underway on Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ’s campus

POCATELLO – The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) is once again leading a group of students in the Idaho Entrepreneurship Challenge who will prepare for the U.S. Bank Pitch-off Contest this fall and then try to compete for $100,000 in prize money next spring.
