Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ’s Structural Laboratory gets a significant upgrade, adds new visualization capability    

POCATELLO – The Structural Laboratory (SLAB) within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ received approximately $250,000 in upgrades and new equipment this year, including a new Visualization Laboratory.

Idaho State launches mandatory COVID-19 screening program

POCATELLO – Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ will implement a mandatory COVID-19 screening program at the start of the spring semester for all students, faculty, and staff with a physical on-campus presence. The COVID-19 screening involves a non-invasive, saliva-based sample. The sample will be self collected as part of the screening process.

Local Vickers Family establishes a scholarship endowment at the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ College of Business

POCATELLO – Most anyone from Pocatello or the surrounding area is familiar with Vickers Western Store on Yellowstone Avenue, or on North Holmes Avenue in Idaho Falls. Bill Vickers, an Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ College of Business alumni, opened the Pocatello store in 1976 and it remains a vital part of the business community.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ biology professor Bruce Finney helps discover variation in ancient native Alaskan diet

POCATELLO – Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Biological sciences and Geosciences Professor Bruce Finney contributed to a new research paper titled “Ancient Beringian paleodiets revealed through multiproxy stable isotope analysis,” which found that about 11,500 years ago native Alaskans had a diet that featured both land animals and salmon.
