Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's Team Bird Brain receives $358,000 funding extension from National Institutes of Health

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's TEAM BIRD BRAIN, the lab of Associate Professor of Neurophysiology Jason Pilarski, recently received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to support a project entitled "MECHANISMS OF RESPIRATORY-RELATED RHYTHMIC MOTOR ACTIVITY AND PLASTICITY IN THE DEVELOPING AVIAN BRAIN STEM" (Direct costs= $358,572).

More than 50 Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ faculty and staff participated in the March 3 “Write Winning Grant Proposals” full-day workshop sponsored by the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Office for Research.  The workshop occurred in the Pond Student Union Wood River Suites and was also broadcast to researchers at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's Meridian campus.

POCATELLO – A study co-authored by Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Professor Bruce Finney bolsters the argument that more than 15,000 years ago that the first humans who traveled to North America used a coastal route, traveling by boat, as opposed to traveling from the north, walking over a land bridge and then southward between the large retreating glaciers.
