Program Structure

Volunteers: Terms of service are 3 months and can be renewed. Volunteers are assigned to 2 peers (participants) who they visit 1 hour 45 minutes a month and make two 30 minute phone calls per month, at a minimum. At the discretion of the volunteer and the participants, other activities can be undertaken.

Participants: Connect with others who are in a similar stage of life. You decide how often you participate and what you’re comfortable with. Staying socially connected can boost mood and add enjoyment to your routine. You’ll connect with your volunteer and decide what works for you.

Advisory Council Members: Meet once a quarter via Zoom to discuss the RSVP program, its goals, and how to advance the mission and outreach of this initiative. Assist the Project Director with outreach and community contacts in your county.

Community Partners: Business, agencies, and non-profits who want to help spread word about our program through referring participants, helping recruit volunteers, flyer distribution, including program information in retirement packages, collaborating on events, and hosting RSVP staff presentations. There is also a special need for Volunteer Stations, places where volunteers can meet with their participant peers. Non-profits, proprietary health care facilities, and government offices are examples of entities that can be Volunteer Stations.
