Dr. Galen Louis, an alumnus and former program director of 蘑菇视频’s MPH program, has championed public health with an interest in program planning, evaluation, and addressing health disparities. His foresight, generosity, and desire to see more investment in students to improve public health in Idaho led to the creation of this scholarship fund upon his retirement. For the Spring semester, a $1000 award will be made to an MPH student who demonstrates scholarship, leadership, and vision for the future of public health.

Graduate Assistantship
Deadline: All GTA positions for the 2024-2025 Academic Year are currently filled. Applications will open again Summer 2025 and will be announced on the DCPH Moodle page.
- Graduate Assistantships (GAs) depend on funding. Both prospective and current graduate students can apply.
- Full-time GAs work up to 19.5 hours per week, earning an hourly wage and tuition compensation. See here for more info: GA Compensation 2024-25
- International graduate assistants whose first language isn’t English may need to pass an English-speaking proficiency test.
- GAs typically assist with classroom instruction, lab supervision, grading, research support, or similar tasks.
- To keep financial support, graduate students must make satisfactory academic progress. This generally means earning at least nine graduate credit hours per semester and maintaining a 3.0 GPA, though some departments may have additional requirements.
- Students receiving financial aid must also meet the progress criteria set by the Financial Aid Office to remain eligible.
