Petroleum Experts donate MOVEModeling software worth more than $2.5 million to Idaho State University Geosciences department

POCATELLO – Petroleum Experts Limited has donated the equivalent of more than $2.5 million in oil and gas-industry software for use by the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Department of Geosciences that will be used by Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ researchers working on a National Science Foundation grant and for teaching of advanced graduate-level geosciences courses.

POCATELLO – Joselynn Castillo wasn’t even going to apply for the Maná Scholarship because she thought there was no way she could win a national scholarship. However, with the encouragement of her mother, she applied and was one of 15 students selected out of a pool of 1,200 to receive a $10,000 scholarship.

IDAHO FALLS – Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ nuclear engineering Associate Professor Mary Lou Dunzik-Gougar is the principal investigator on a $800,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy Nuclear Energy University Program to study itsy-bitsy, teeny-tiny, 10-to-the-minus-6-meter materials to determine their strength to support development of new nuclear fuels.

POCATELLO – Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ’s Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (IEEE) club will host a Career Exploration Series on Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Middle Fork Room. The purpose of this event is to expose students to different career specialties within the electrical engineering field.
