Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ’s Structural Laboratory gets a significant upgrade, adds new visualization capability

POCATELLO – The Structural Laboratory (SLAB) within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ received approximately $250,000 in upgrades and new equipment this year, including a new Visualization Laboratory.

POCATELLO – Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering Mustafa Mashal has been appointed as the Transportation Research Board Committee Research Coordinator (CRC) for the Standing Committee on Seismic Design and Performance of Bridges (AKB50).

POCATELLO – Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ’s Dustin McNulty, associate professor of physics, has received a $539,000 three-year grant that will continue to support his lab’s students and research that “will enhance our understanding of fundamental nuclear structure and provide a powerful search for potential new physics beyond our present knowledge.”

POCATELLO – Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering students Samantha Kerr, a senior undergraduate, and Ali Shokrgozar, a doctoral candidate, were selected among the five finalists for the American Segmental Bridge Institute (ASBI) Research Project competition at a virtual convention this fall.

Idaho State EMT program partners with the Disaster Response Complex for 'real-world' training

POCATELLO – Twenty students and six instructors in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ College of Technology’s Emergency Medical Technician program received real-world emergency response training at the new Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Disaster Response Complex, which is run by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
