Materials: Small String, 3 Table Clamps, 5 90 degree angle clamps, 2 variable angle clamps, 2 pulleys, Tall Ladder, 2 weight hangers
This demo is to show off Atwood's Machine. This demo takes some time setting up as you have to take out a ceiling tile. This can be used to time how long it takes for an object to fall, or it can be used to find the rate at which something falls. The Atwood's Machine can also be used for any purpose that a professor may want to use it for.
When setting up the demo, it is best to use same pulleys that are shown above. If this is not possible, ensure there is very minimal friction in the pulleys.
Below is an alternate setup that is mounted on a cart that can be used in classrooms with a 9-ft ceiling.
