Adult pneumonia immunizations save lives

POCATELLO – According to national research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), less than 67 percent of adults age 65 or older received their pneumoniavaccination in 2016. In Southeast Idaho, 57 percent of Medicare beneficiaries have never received a pneumonia vaccination, putting them at risk for serious illness and hospitalization.

MERIDIAN—Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ’s Institute of Rural Health has received a $450,000 grant from the federal Administration for Community Living to continue the development of a statewide action plan to address the needs of citizens living with a traumatic brain injury or TBI.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - The work of faculty and alumni from the Department of Dental Hygiene at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ (Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ) did not go unnoticed at the association’s annual conference in June. There the ADHA honored an Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ faculty member with a prestigious Presidential Citation Award, and installed a new slate of officers for the upcoming year, with an Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ alumna among them.
