Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX Recognizes Physician Assistant Studies as Inaugural Title IX Champion

May 18, 2026

The Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX is proud to announce the Physician Assistant Studies program as the inaugural recipient of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Title IX Champion Award. Through their prompt, thoughtful approach to Title IX matters and their genuine dedication to student support, this program has set a standard worth celebrating.

Physician Assistant Studies has distinguished itself through a good-faith, collaborative approach to pregnancy and parenting accommodations. When students have needed flexibility, understanding, and creative problem-solving, this program has delivered by responding quickly, engaging with care, and treating accommodation not as a burden but as an opportunity to support student success, retention, and completion.

The result is a culture where pregnant and parenting students can continue their academic journey with confidence, knowing their program is in their corner.

We hope their example inspires departments across Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ to approach Title IX accommodation work with the same commitment. Supporting pregnant and parenting students is not just a legal obligation, it is an investment in the future of our students and our university.

The Title IX Champion Award will be presented annually to a program that exemplifies this standard.
