$20,000 made available for non-STEM Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ students for research travel

POCATELLO – An additional $20,000 for research travel funds are now available to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ students in non-science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.
These funds were made available through an Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Office of Provost initiative and will be managed by the Office for Research Outreach and Compliance in the Office for Research effective immediately.
This money will supplement the STEM-directed undergraduate research Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) funds also managed by the Office for Research. These funds will allow Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ to provide opportunities for all undergraduate students.
The Provost commits these funds to provide research opportunities for all Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ undergraduate students. These funds will be available through an application process for research travel and research projects.
Research travel includes:
- attending professional conferences, to present their work and network, and
- to travel for scholarly pursuits, such as to visit an exhibit or a library for research.

Funds may be used for travel costs, lodging and conference registration. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis.
Funds will also be available to conduct student research projects. Future communications will provide a process to apply for research project funds. This information will be out before Sept. 20.
