The 2014 annual “I Love ĢƵ” campaign concluded Thursday, Sept. 18, raising $194,092.52 in pledges for scholarships for Southeast Idaho students. The ĢƵ Foundation made the announcement during the after hours celebration in the Pond Student Union.
“The scholarship funds raised during this campaign will provide opportunities for our Bengals to further their education,” explained Kallee Valentine, ĢƵ Foundation director of annual giving. “This campaign enables donors to support any program, department or college within the University.”
Led this year by Dave Gates from the Pocatello Fire Department and Claudia Tremelling from Idaho Power, 18 teams and 175 volunteers from Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Blackfoot and American Falls worked together to gather pledges through weeks of peer-to-peer contacts and other activities.
“Once again, I’m touched by the immense generosity of our community,” said ĢƵ President Arthur C. Vailas. “I want to personally thank our donors and campaign volunteers for their continued support of our students.”
I Love ĢƵ is a business-to-business fundraising campaign that connects the local economy with ĢƵ. Over the last 32 years, I Love ĢƵ has raised millions of dollars for our local students.
