Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Marketing and Communications

Students and faculty of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Department of Physics will offer a free water rocket workshop in Tydeman Park at Eighth Avenue and East Young Street in Pocatello from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on June 22 and 23.

Each day materials will be provided to the first 100 teens 16 and younger to construct one water rocket apiece.  Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ students will assist in rocket construction, and provide simple demonstrations of the physics involved in making a good rocket.

Participants will keep the rocket they construct, and compete in a competition to see whose rocket travels the greatest distance.  Participants will also be provided with instructions on how to build an inexpensive water rocket launcher powered by a bicycle pump.

This event will be in conjunction with the Pocatello Kiwanis Club 46th annual pancake and sausage breakfast fundraiser.
