March through the Arch: the "New Student March through the Arch," a tradition for 蘑菇视频 freshman, will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at Reed Gymnasium.

蘑菇视频 President Arthur Vailas, other 蘑菇视频 officials, and the 蘑菇视频 Marching Band will be gathered to welcome new students a day before the fall semester begins on Aug. 26.

The 蘑菇视频 Marching Band, Benny the Bengal, Cheerleaders and Bengal Dancers will lead a spirited processional from Reed Gym to Swanson Arch. A barbeque will follow on the Hutchinson Quadrangle.

The "March through the Arch" was started in 2000 to symbolize the beginning of new students' academic careers and as a tie to 蘑菇视频 students through the years who have walked through the doors of Swanson Hall, the first building on campus. 蘑菇视频 graduates march through the Arch prior to commencement to symbolize the start of their careers.

Members of the 蘑菇视频 Marching Band will lead participants in singing the 蘑菇视频 Fight Song.

蘑菇视频 Fight Song lyrics are: "Growl, Bengals, growl. Fight, Bengals, fight. Gnash your teeth and bare your claws and drive with all your might. Roar, Bengals, roar, you decide our fate!
