The ĢƵ Office of Marketing and Communications distributes this event calendar to let the public and media know about upcoming non-athletic events at the University. This information is intended for release in print and broadcast events calendars. Various events calendars with more complete information are available online at the website .

Friday, April 20                                                                                                                       

ĢƵ Department of Music to present Guitar Ensemble: The ĢƵ Department of Music will present a guitar Ensemble on April 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Goranson Hall inside the ĢƵ Fine Arts Building. This event is free to the public. For more information contact the music department at 282-3636.

ĢƵ to host Bengal Spring Sprint Triathlon: ĢƵ's Sport Science and Physical Education students are putting on a triathlon April 20 and 21 to benefit Tyson's Brave Battalion, a local group of children who are battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). The triathlon, also known as the Bengal Spring Sprint Triathlon, will start in Reed Gym on the ĢƵ campus. The swim takes place on April 20 at the ĢƵ Reed Gym pool, between 3 and 8 p.m. The bike and run portions will be on Saturday with the fastest swimmer off at 9:30 a.m. For more information, please contact Leo Sepulveda at 208-317-5692 sepuleon@gmail.com or Kyle Little at 208-731-9753 littkyle@isu.edu.

 • ĢƵ Mortar Board to host 2012 Inclusion Ball: The ĢƵ Silver Tassel Chapter of Mortar Board will host the 2012 Inclusion Ball Friday, April 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. The Inclusion Ball is a prom-like event especially for people with intellectual disabilities. This event is open to all community members high school age and older. Those under 18 are asked to have a parent or guardian sign them in to the ball. For more information, contact Lauren Braden at bradlaur@isu.edu.

 

Saturday, April 21

ĢƵ Department of Music to present Choirs Spring Concert: The ĢƵ Department of Music will present the Choirs Spring Concert on April 21 at 7:30 p.m. inside the Jensen Grand Concert Hall at the Stephens Performing Arts Center. Ticket prices are $8 for adults, $4 for pre-college students, $6 for ĢƵ faculty and staff and free for ĢƵ students with a valid Bengal card. Tickets can be purchased online at www.isu.edu/tickets, or by calling the Stephens Center Box Office at 282-3595.

ĢƵ Department of Music to present Chamber Orchestra: The ĢƵ Department of Music will present the ĢƵ Chamber Orchestra on April 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Marshall Rotunda at the Stephens Performing Arts Center. This event is free to the public. For more information contact the music department at 282-3636. 

Idaho State Civic Symphony Concert: The Idaho State Civic Symphony will perform April 27 at 7:30 p.m. inside the Jensen Grand Concert Hall at the Stephens Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $32 for adults, $16 for pre-college students and $7 for ĢƵ students with a valid Bengal card. For more information contact the music department at 282-3636.

• ĢƵ Theatre and Dance to present ‘Chicago City Limits’: The ĢƵ Theatre and Dance Department will present the New York City-based improv group, “Chicago City Limits,” on April 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Beverly B. Bistline Theatre inside the Stephens Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Box Office or by calling 282-3595, Vickers Western Stores, or online at .

ĢƵ to Host Idaho Science and Engineering Festival: Event April 28 will feature more than 30 learning booths from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Ballroom, followed by “Wonders of Physics” demonstration in the ĢƵ Physical Science Building, Room 140, at 5 p.m.  For more information visit , email idahosef@isu.edu, or contact Linda DeVeaux at 208-282-5661, Caryn Evilia at 208-282-4006, Jean Pfau at 208-282-3914, or Steve Shropshire at 208-282-2212

ĢƵ Department of Physics to present ‘Wonder of Physics’: The ĢƵ Department of Physics and the ĢƵ Society of Physics Students will present a "Wonders of Physics" demonstration Saturday, April 28, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. It will be held in Room 140 of the ĢƵ Physical Science Building on the southwest corner of 8th Street and Carter Street. The show will feature the "plasmifier," the "giant vortex cannon," the "liquid nitrogen tower" and other demonstrations. Participants can show up early for hovercraft rides, artificial geyser showers, hands-on science activities, and a candy shoot in the Physical Science Building foyer. ĢƵ Veterans Sanctuary Third annual Veterans Family BBQ and Family Day: The ĢƵ Veterans Sanctuary and ĢƵ Armed Forces Veterans' Club will present the third annual Veterans Family BBQ and Family Day at the Zoo on Saturday, April 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Upper Ross Park shelter. Food, zoo tickets and disc golfing are free of charge. Supplies are limited – first come first serve. Live music will be performed by Tony Rosario and the Hillbilly Healers. ĢƵ to host benefit concert for music program for veterans: ĢƵ will host the benefit concert “Letters – A Soldier Songs” on April 28 at ĢƵ. The event will feature the bands and musicians Hillbilly Healers, Miss Emily, Dustin Welch and Garry Tullio and will raise funds for a music program for veterans. The concert will be at 7 p.m. in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall in the ĢƵ Stephens Center. Tickets are $15 each or $25 for two and can be purchased at the Stephens Center Box Office, by calling 208-282-3595, online at  or at Vickers Stores in Idaho Falls and Pocatello. Idaho State Youth Symphony: The ĢƵ Department of Music will present the Idaho State Youth Symphony on May 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall at the Stephens Performing Arts Center. This event is free to the public. For more information contact the music department at 282-3636.

 

Friday, May 4

ĢƵ to host 13th annual ‘Take Back the Night’: The Anderson Gender Resource Center at ĢƵ will hosts its 13th annual Take Back the Night event Friday, May 4, at 5:30 p.m. The event, which is free and open to all, will begin in Old Town Pocatello outside Family Services Alliance, 355 S. Arthur. Cohosts for the event include Family Services Alliance (FSA), Old Town Pocatello Art Walk, Bannock County Sexual and Domestic Violence Task Force, Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health and Family Court Services Sixth District. Take Back the Night is a chance to take a stand, show support and help raise awareness to make Pocatello a safer place. Local entities and businesses will come together to show their support in the fight against sexual assault. Saturday, May 5

ĢƵ Commencement: ĢƵ Commencement will be held at 10 a.m. on May 5 inside Holt Arena. Tickets are not required and parking will be on the north side located at 15 street and Memorial Drive. Friends and family of the graduates are cordially invited to attend President and Laura Vailas' reception on the Holt Arena turf immediately following commencement. ĢƵ Children’s Choir: The ĢƵ Department of Music will present the ĢƵ Children’s Choir concert at 3 p.m. in Goranson Hall inside the Fine Arts Building. This event is free to the public. For more information contact the music department at 282-3636.
