Idaho’s Barbara Morgan, former NASA astronaut who has logged more than 300 hours in space, will give a presentation at 4 p.m. March 5 in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Rendezvous Complex Planetarium.

Morgan’s visit is sponsored in conjunction with Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Women’s History Month celebrations by the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ College of Engineering, Janet C. Anderson Gender Resource Center, Department of Physics and the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ WeLEAD program that supports women faculty in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.

Morgan’s talk will be preceded by a 15-minute panel discussion from some of Idaho State’s female students about why they chose to study in math- and science-related fields.

After the panel discussion Morgan will give her presentation about being an astronaut, and encouraging students to pursue math and science.  Her discussion will be followed by a question and answer period.  The entire program should last about an hour.

The public is encouraged to attend.
